Chocolate Crackles




I am loving baking at the moment. I try and make something new every weekend if I have nothing else planned. Although, the lack of flatmates means that I end up eating more than usual!


This week I was looking through my Great British Bake off baking books and and found a recipe for Chocolate Crackles and they looked divine!

100g dark 70% cocoa chocolate 
100g butter
150g caster sugar
1 large egg
Vanilla extract
175g self raising flour
Icing sugar

1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave or over a saucepan with simmering water
2. Once melted, stir in the butter until the mixture is cooled. 
3. Add the sugar and mix into a paste and leave for 5 minute to cool.
4. Add the egg, vanilla extract and flour and mix into a dough
5. Leave to cool in the fridge for an hour
6. Pour some icing sugar into a plate 
7. Shape the dough into spheres and coat with icing sugar. Place on a greased baking tray
8. Cook for 10-12 minutes on 200 degrees.
