L'oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer | First Impressions

My skin is just getting worse and worse lately. I have started to wear foundation daily, which I never used to do, in an attempt to make my skin look better. But because of my oily skin, it would soon look like I hadn't bothered. Bring on the primer!

This has a gel like consistency which wasn't really what I was expecting. It is quite slippery on my fingers and you need more than a pea size to make it cover all of your face.

But, my skin felt so smooth when it was put on. It made my cheeks feel like velvet and my annoying acne scars felt smoother.

I used it with the Rimmel 24 hour foundation and it went on so well. My spots were more covered and they didn't have that awful dried out look. My makeup went on so smoothly, it was so easy!

In terms of staying power, my foundation still looked okay after a 3 hour rehearsal which is pretty good going. I will update his when I have worn it whilst doing a show as I feel like the hot lights and the nerves will determine how much I sweat!

Overall, I think primers are the way to go, because if I am not going to have perfect skin, I can just fake it, right?

This one is pretty good, and at only £7.99, I think it is definitely worth it!

Do you use skin primers?

  1. I used to have a very similar primer (it could have been a l'oreal one!) but it got discontinued. This one might be a great replacement for it!
    Great review :)

  2. I've heard so many amazing things about this primer - I'm not sure why I haven't picked it up myself yet. £7.99 is so good compared to the other highly raved about primers like porefessional and smashbox!
