Happy Birthday 'Another Student Blog'!

How has it been a year since I signed up to blogger and started writing? It's gone so quick, I am pretty impressed with myself that I have kept it up for so long! Never did I think that a year later I would still be writing and thinking of new ideas.

Blogging is such a weird hobby. Even a year on, people don't even know that I blog, that I have a separate twitter account for talking to bloggers and that I really enjoy it. It's like my little secret, and I desperately want to tell people, but I'm not sure how they will react - *unless they are reading this right now!*

I hope that my content, photos and ideas have got slightly better since I wrote a very boring, "What to pack for university" post (which I will probably redo this year!). I remember getting my first comment on one of my posts and was absolutely ecstatic. A year on, I still get so excited when I have a new comment. It's the little things. I remember hitting 100 followers on bloglovin', and now there are over 400 of you and I can't really believe it.

I still don't think I'm a 'blogger' though. Sometimes I am not 100% happy with my content, and some days I get no views at all. Over the course of the year, what started as strictly a university advice blog has evolved into lifestyle, recipes and beauty reviews. I've loved communicating with bloggers on twitter and reading insights into other people's lives. Blogger envy strikes us all, and I have definitely had that a lot over the past year, but some of these people have been blogging for years.

I've enjoyed it so much. I've learnt new skills, talked to loads of people and it has given me the oppurtunity to get my voice out there. If I ever want to do something in journalism (although I still have a long way to go!), this is the perfect start.

However, there are some things that I would like to achieve in the next year:

- Go to a blogger event
- Meet some of the bloggers I talk to online in real life
- Work with some brands
- Up my content game and not publish posts that I wouldn't want to read
- Tell people that I blog???!!!!
- Talk to more bloggers
- Comment more and share the love

So if you're reading this, thanks for joining me on the journey - it's been a fun year, let's make the next one even better!

  2. Happy Birthday to your blog! My blog is coming up to it's 1st birthday too and I haven't told that many people that I blog. It's more of a 'I need to take a photo of this meal it's for my blog' kind of thing haha.

Here's to another year! I bet it'll just fly by!

    1. Ah thank you! I just subtly take photos when I am out - or try and do it quickly in my room. It's a real struggle, but just easier than the questions! xx
