Favourite Female TV Characters #1

Finally, something that isn't exam/revision based - apologies for my readers who are't currently sitting exams, the past content must have been very boring for you!

There is no denying that I love TV - binges are my thing. I have made the worst mistake in starting Sex and The City as revision breaks (and I am loving it!) and I am constantly re-watching my favourite TV programs online. So here is a little list of some of my favourite female characters - this will be the first of a few posts, I have a lot of favourites!

1. Betty Suarez - Ugly Betty
Ugly Betty was my favourite TV show when I was in early teens. I was absolutely gutted when it ended. She went for dreams, forgetting what others thought about her and got on with it. I didn't have a lot of confidence when I was growing up, and it showed me that working hard will get you where you want to be. Sounds cheesy, I know! I was so happy when she got the happy ending in season 4, it was just perfect! Plus, Henry was totally my TV crush.

2. Rachel Berry - Glee
Another show I was completely obsessed with when it first came out. Annoying as hell, yes, but determined nevertheless. She had some pure comedy gold moments, plus Lea Michelle's voice is something else. I always wished that I could rock knee high socks and preppy skirts as well as she did.

3. Clara Oswald - Doctor Who
I think Clara is one of my favourite Doctor Who companions, smart, fearless with a dress sense on point. I am so glad that she is staying for another series!

4. Ivy Lynn - Smash
First season, I hated the character, she was a little rude and annoying - let's just say I was Team Karen all the way. However, I soon felt sorry for her, and she became one of my favourite characters. Megan Hilty is just incredible, and her vocals during "Don't forget me" - gives me goosebumps every time. If you're a musical theatre fan, then watch this show, but unfortunately, it only had two seasons.

What are some of your favourite TV characters?

  1. Such a unique and brilliant idea for a blog post! I've just purchased the Sex and the City Box Set because I was watching a few episodes over Easter and really enjoyed it - wonder how long it will take me to get through the full six series now exams are over! xx

    1. You've definitely done the right thing and waiting until after exams - I am on series 3, and it is not slowly down any time soon. Woops!! xx

  2. I am not too familiar with these characters, never got into any of these shows. However, one time someone came up to me & told me I look "like the girl from Glee." Lea Michelle. :]
