Easter Biscuits



I do love a spot of baking. If you have been a reader for a while, you may know that I am a bit of a fail in the kitchen. I always burn cakes or biscuits that I make. But, these didn't actually turn out too bad!

I used a recipe from milkbubbletea's 'Simple Sausage Dog Sugar Cookies' post and they turned out great. They are super tasty and really easy. Although some were a bit burnt around the edges (I think because I used butter to make sure that they didn't stick) they were actually a success. Plus they look super cute. I am definitely going to whip up a batch next weekend for Easter, as these ones have been munched up by my family!

100g Butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
100g Caster sugar
275g plain flour


1. Cream the sugar and butter together - basically make it so that it comes together to form a paste like texture
2. Add in the egg and vanilla extract
3. Sift in half the flour and combine
4. Sift in the remaining half and use hands to combine into a dough
5. Roll out to 1cm thick 
6. Cut out shapes
7. Place on a greased baking tray at 190 degrees for 10 minutes or until slightly golden on the edges (they will harden when they cool, don't worry!)

The cookie cutters I used were actually from Poundland and I think they worked really well. In the sent I had a sheep, chick, rabbit (which I think is my favourite) and an egg shape. 


A Sunday afternoon well spent I believe! 
Because these were so easy to make, I am currently on the hunt for more cool cookie cutters. I currently have my eye on a set of Doctor Who ones, so watch this space!
