Tea Talk

Long time no see! I have been truly awful this week at posting. University and other things have just gotten in the way.

But I am back.. and talking about tea?!

I have always been a tea drinker from a young age. 2 sugars and lots of milk will suit me nicely. However, the past few weeks that I have been back at university, I have cut down on my tea consumption significantly less. I have had trouble sleeping the past few days and wondered whether my excessive tea drinking was the cause. It turns out it isn't, I just can't sleep full stop.

So anyway, to cut a long story short, I have started to drink Camomile tea to help me to sleep. And let me tell you, it tastes gross.. Like really not nice. My flatmate loves it, but me, not so much. (okay, this could be because it cost me 89p from Aldi). A spoonful of honey makes it slightly less icky.

Why am I drinking it you ask?

Well I have investigated this, and believe me, if the health benefits weren't that great, I would continue drinking it!

Aids Sleep
Calms symptoms of anxiety or stress
Boots your immune system
Soothes stomach cramps and aches
Has anti inflammatory characterisitcs

I can totally vouch for the idea that camomile tea aids sleep - it made me sleep like a baby after a weekend of very bad sleep and totally calmed me down.

  1. What a coincidence! I was drinking some chamomile tea while reading your post! I prefer green tea especially if it's from the Tazo brand.

  2. I'm a great tea lover myself, prefer the old classic English Breakfast - not so fond of Chamomile either!!!

    1. I have slowly been getting back into drinking Breakfast tea, but Camomile and Spiced Apple is pretty good! xx
